You have been through all of the data and can categorically say there is no evidence of man made warming?
I can see spikes and outliers. There is no pattern to them. Everyone else sees the same, apart from one man. Michael Mann. When he was a PhD student he attempted to merge estimated tree ring data from a small set of trees in one part of one Siberian forest with thermal measurements from a select set of measuring instruments. To get the two to match at the join he used an adjustment algorithm that linked tree ring estimates to measured temperatures. Lets say todays temperature is 28C Lets say tree ring data suggests an average temperature of 25 degrees. You cant have a sudden spike on the graph, so you merge the temperatures over 20 years. That means you have a sudden rise in temperature of 3C over 20 years. = PANIC, the world is warming. That erroneous piece of research is all that we have, and it has been widely discredited. |

Re: Global warming
Among the four main repositories of global temperature records, NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies is the only one to show the Earth still warming during the past decade.
Now climate researchers Joseph D'Aleo and Anthony Watts have discovered that there was a "major" decline in the number of stations GISS scientists were taking readings from "and an increase in missing data from remaining stations, which occurred suddenly around 1990 ... a clear bias was found toward removing higher elevation, higher latitude, and rural stations -- the cooler stations -- during this culling process." The pre-1990 temperature records, though, continued to include these cooler stations. These changes tended to make temperatures before 1990 appear extra-cool and those after 1990 extra-warm. |

Where did you copy and paste this from?
http://www2.canada.com/edmontonjourn...1ee6bbae43&p=2 However it has been widely reported in many publications. I didn’t post it to criticise the GISS, but to demonstrate how extremely difficult it is to monitor the Earths temperature. Even NASA are struggling. It relates to my earlier post about proving warming. |
Re: Global warming
Interesting comment from an IPCC reviewer in 2008:
The disappearance of the IPCC in disgrace is not only desirable but inevitable. The reason is, that the world will slowly realise that the "predictions" emanating from the IPCC will not happen. The absence of any "global warming" for the past eight years is just the beginning. Sooner or later all of us will come to realise that this organisation, and the thinking behind it, is phony. Unfortunately severe economic damage is likely to be done by its influence before that happens. http://nzclimatescience.net/index.ph...d=155&Itemid=1 |
Re: Global warming
My predictions on this thread 5th December 2009
If I had to make a prediction it would be this: 1.Copenhagen will fail to reach accord. Governments will fight to ensure the best deal for themselves. CAME TRUE! 2.The ETS will not get through both houses in Australia, due to lack of support from the opposition. CAME TRUE! 3.Rudd will not dare to call a double disillusion. If he did it becomes a virtual referendum on a new Tax, and whatever the merits, it will be a millstone going into an election. A recent poll in the UK found that the majority of the population don’t believe in AGW. I am sure Australians are even more cynical. The poll on this site shows about the same. CAME TRUE! 4.The AGW lobby will retire, regroup and try even more scare tactics. At every natural disaster some windbag will stand on a soapbox and say “AGW did thisâ€, even when it is patently obvious not to be the case. 5.Within 10 years a new scare will occur. Or a major conflict. Lets see about 4 and 5...... |

>>Wol, let me make this incredibly clear....THERE IS NO UNDERLYING SCIENCE MAKING THE CASE FOR GLOBAL WARMING << Noted. Now that the situation has been clarified, I have copied it to the chairman of the IPCC and asked him to circulate it to all involved. The planet owes you - you have saved us trillions  |

I have also emailed every climatologist in the world to tell them to stop their research as they are wasting their time.

Sorry, but "THERE IS NO UNDERLYING SCIENCE MAKING THE CASE FOR GLOBAL WARMING".
Some random guy on the internet said it...so it must be true. No I said it. My mistake. I assumed people here knew the difference between theory and scientifically proven fact. AGW is a theory. No more and no less. Just like Alien life forms existing on other planets. |
