For information on Borneo deforestation, go to:

If the article is genuine (and the doubts created by the IPCC debacle make me reluctant to trust anything from the UN these days) then Borneo has been dreadfully ravaged.....

Climate change is something that happens naturally.

However I do believe that we cannot carry on acting like we are without facing the consequences (Pollution, deforestation, mountains of refuse)

Theres more to it than money.... It's restriction of movement and freedom. If it were just money I wouldnt be as worried.

It's dead freaking dangerous, these anti carbon laws stand to wreck a lot of our freedom of choice.

It's like the bullsheet that people put forward that we should stop immigration because "Australia is running out of water" When it's just water infrastructure that we need and the only way we will get the Water infrastructure is with lots of people paying taxes. I did my nut at a poster on these boards recently... had a sixth sense about her motives.... and it turned out she was a government adviser in SA where our water problems are most extreme.. These people (relgious like zealots) are one degree removed from ELF and are moving into positions of power.

Best way to solve these problems is to track where the money is being spent.

Makes me wonder if people have really thought through the consequences of what the Carbon laws could do.

Have a think about Air Travel and living in Aus please.

I honestly dont think I could stay here if my movements where restricted to the degree that the people that wish to implement the kind of changes they "deem" necessary.

Say you could only afford just one trip every 30 years.... instead of one every 3 years. I guess there are always ships though... then there's getting the time off.

Have a real careful think about what could be coming.

It's a pity there's no such thing as a sway poll where people can change their vote after a period of time.

Do you think Krudd will ever wise up? Wong seems to have gone a bit quiet lately.

In this mornings paper. She's still set on the ETS as being the great savior of mankind. Sticking to the party line like a good Comrade I see.

Although it seems Tony Abbott is considering today funding tree plantation and other measures so on with additional taxes on cigarettes. Now there is a breath of fresh air so to speak..

Of course this might just well be a moot point anyhow. I think that deep down the politicians know that the whole carbon crap is looking more fragile by the day. Nobody wants to be the poster boy for that when the house of cards comes tumbling down.

Looks like I spoke too soon, I'll keep my mouth shut next time, maybe she will go away.

Amazing how all the sceptics KNOW none of the IPCC data or conclusions is correct. I wish I was so certain.

...and none of them are Climatologists. Call me cynical but many of the sceptics seem to be economists or people with a vested interest in making vasts amounts of money. I am sure it's just a n unrelated coincidence.

I would have said it is the other way around, take Al Gore as an example. In facthe has already made vast amounts of money out of it whilst flying around in his Lear jet.
