Whenever I read your political posts I always end up feeling you must be employed as some kind of opposition spin doctor.

Fortunately, this is curable.

I don't ask much of a government - just that they tax me fairly, defend and protect me and my family, build and maintain the infrastructure that makes life good, use my taxes to keep us all healthy. Apart from that I want them to get out of the way and keep their noses out of my life.

Not much to ask really.

Only another 5 months to go and then Rudd should make his come back...

(and I still say he'll be up against Turnbull, not Abbott.)

Just sayin'.

Out of curiosity, who would people prefer as finance minister? Wayne Swann or Joe Hockey?

Well if people are deciding who should lead the country out of Abbott and Gillard, I think there is another serious matter of who should write the next budget.

In that case I'll go for Swann. Hockey is probably more fun to go to the pub with, but he looks as if he does his sums on the back of a napkin in said pub.

Might actually work in your favour if you're in the pub with him at the time. You could insist on a tax incentive for Thursday night drinking. Afterall, many of those pubs would be empty if it wasn't for us.

Thats what I tell myself when ordering that last one for the road - its all for the good of the economy. We're modern day australian heroes in a way.

Hockey. Not cause I'm a fan but because I really can't stand Swan.

I believe he used to work with Rudd then joined Gillard in the knife job.
