We could say that Zulu's 'patter' is certainly sometimes anti-Pom, anti-UK and a bit childish, and bordering on racist, or inciting racism, 'mussie pricks' so maybe yes.

But as I have said, G has never been a complete Angel in this regard and was the chief architect of alot of tension on this site in past years - remember the 'Godzone' wars:rofl::p

I think both G and Zulu post with a degree of irony on an agenda, the seriousness of which is hard to determine. If they were both to leave we would have no conflict and no colour.

If I only posted fluffy stuff you might have a point but you are off the mark. Maybe you think I am part of some brigade.

This accusation, by G, that people don't want to debate negative stuff, and demonstrates insecurity is also complete and utter mis-direction. I have never seen Ivan gloss over negatives. He is only positing if G has himself been negative. The brigade reference goes back to the 'culture' wars, and as for insecurity - that people who liked living in Australia and hit back at constant negativity must be insecure. It was only ever a device for point-scoring.

People got fed up with vitriol, and persistant negativity, not realism.

Plenty of people are adult enough to debate the negative side of Australia. The cost for one thing has been on the front page for years - and contributed to by all.

G has always been popular.:) We all like him. But the argument has turned to whether Zulu or G are as bad as each other - and none of them is an angel....the forum knows this surely. Let me be clear that I am not being anti-G (or anti-Zulu) I like them both. I'm just trying to reason the points and I think I have been fair.

why can't we have serious debate on this site without someone taking something personally.....where by we can leave aside personalities once in a while and just crack on with it.

Personally I don't like his 'borderline' racism.

hmmm..I confess to struggling with this one, but I think he is being 'realistic'.
It's clear to me that he hates terrorists..so do I. He hates muslim terroists. 'So do I'. I think we are all against peopel who threaten our way of life - unless we live in an enclave. G said this himself - about others who want only the good stuff. But he himself comes from a English enclave in the Lake District. I wonder if some of the people who criticise their life in the UK know more than we do about the hardships of modern life.

Zulu is an ex-soldier from an African nation and has dealt with violence and seen it at first hand. The rest of us want to discuss little items over what we can or cannot buy.

Funny eh? Remember he sort of represents the 'third' way...he is sort of a neutral. He is neither a Pom or an Aussie.

That's two. But you missed the final option.

He hates Jews? Sorry can you explain?

In my dealings with people few are outright racists..people just don't get people that are different....we see this from this board all the time. That's xenophobic in Australia....which doesn't appear to be as bad as racism.

I personally find the comment above one of the most offensive to ever grace the forum. No different to referring to a black man/woman as a ni**er. It's wrong & if it's brought to my attention via the report button it will result in an instant ban. No excuses it's not bordering on racist it is racist period! I haven't seen it prior to you posting it, though I had seen similar. No matter how you try & justify it adding prick to the end clearly shows it's intended as a slur:thumbdown: I'll go & search..........

Well I'm 99.99% certain that I have in the past reported it...and I had to laugh because I'm pretty sure the 'swear word' was edited but the sentiment was left behind. It's been used many, many times. In another thread another poster asked for it not to be used and was told where to go (no - I don't know if they hit report!). Then the usual BE thing...it's just an abbreviation etc got going.

I didn't post to point out that the thread had been taken off topic, you've interpreted it wrong again.

Also, I brought it back on topic by the second half of that post.

Seems everyone is interpreting or understanding you incorrectly at the moment. Perhaps you should go start up your own forum so you could allow who you want to join and pick and choose what posts are allowed. Oh and this thread is in the barbie. It's still an off topic type forum. Maybe you should stick to the main Aus board if that style suits you better.

Personally, I don't think its borderline in anything other than the careful phrasing.

I just watched the video interview with Geert Wilders by that idiot lefty Tony Jones. Geert obviously knows what he's talking about and came across as an educated and articulate politician. Unlike the rabble we have here leading us. He is obviously concerned about the direction his country is moving in with mass immigration from islamic countries. We should send our lot to Rotterdam to see the future of Australia with Gillards policies.

I was thinking the same thing. The stakes are too high for Australia not to learn from Europe's unreversible mistakes.
