All shops shutting half an hour before their advertised closing time. When they say closed at 5pm, they mean the last employee is walking out and locking the door at 5pm. If you turn up at 4:45 you get the look of death, sorry the till is all cashed up, do you have the exact change etc.

Restaurants all closing on a Monday. That in itself is daft. Even dafter, restaurants closing on public holidays. God forbid anyone on holiday might want to go to a restaurant.

And of course, guys in Utes with the obligitory dog tied up in the flat bed in the back.

That baffled me when i first got here. Shops closing at 4.30pm when they say they are open til 5pm.

Another good one here is shops closing in the middle of the day "because they're not busy". And pubs closing early cos they've only got 5 customers, so they just close.

This isn't out in the sticks either. A couple of years ago, we went to the sports bar in the Crown Casino in Melbourne to watch a Rangers match that they had been advertising all week. When we got there, they were closing up, because not enough people had turned up. The match hadn't even started!!!! This is the 24hr Crown Casino

28 degrees here today and I've just witnessed three young girlies departing my local Deli wearing the most ridiculous collection of Ugg boots you could imagine ...

Scott of the Antartic stuff I tell thee.

All the ones in Cleveland, Ormiston, Birkdale, Thornside are. Sorry, I can't be arsed travelling further than that for a bit of lunch on my day off.

And ALL chip shops in the above areas shut at 7:30pm. In fact the 2 nearest ones shut at 7:30pm AND are shut on Mondays!

The only food places not shut on Mondays are the big chains like McDonalds, Red Rooster, and the Pizza joints like Dominos and Pizza Hut.

The whole "morning and afternoon tea" thing. A morning tea for someone's birthday, a morning tea for someone leaving, a morning tea for fundraising ... you get the idea. Seems like just an excuse to scoff cakes mid morning to me.

I remember getting here with two little ones and all the mums at playgroup having a "morning tea" prepacked for their little ones. What the? They only had breakfast a couple of hours before!

Kids of four and five years of age being expected to have daytime naps at kindy

To be fair, Mrs JTL discovered a cafe in a Garden Centre in Chandler that is open on a Monday. So we go there for lunch on Mondays.

Colouring in as homework in grade 7.

High school requiring permission slips to wear a sun safe hat not the school cap - queensland at that

People, even professionals using expressions like coon, slope heads wog, etc in general conversation and not realising it may offend anyone

Pyjama wearing adults in supermarkets in winter.
