Flynns update, its a rollercoaster!

Hi There,
I only found this thread a few weeks ago and have been watching from afar. I havent posted before now because as hard as I have tried I have never been able to put into words the feelings and emotions that you must have all gone thru during your difficult time. I still dont know what to say other than I have been thinking about your family and baby Flynn and the wonderful progress that he has made in the last couple of months. You are all an inspiration to so many people with your courage and strength. I dont think there is anymore I can say that already hasnt been said.
I wish Heather, Matt and their wonderful family all the joy and luck in the world.

Anyway....todays the day
Just confirmed with the Monash that his bed will be ready at 3pm
He is having his second lot of immunisations at 3pm and then he ll be wired up to check his heart stays beating the way it should. I think he will be fine this time
Then! Tommorrow morning at 10.30 we have the opthamology (eye test) people coming to the ward, WITH the eye drops. (thats when i nip out for a cuppa
)
We wil stay there till 7pm (ish) cos they like to keep them for around 30 hours just to check all is well after the needles.
Gulp! Wish us luck

Oh hevs... hang in there and good luck. I'm sure he'll cope brilliantly. It's horrid when you have to see them go through stuff... but he's out of the woods now and just in a bit of undergrowth...
Have a positive day.

Its all good guys.
He had a moment of scaryness yesterday morning when his heart rate went over 210 per minute and his temp sky rocketed.
But gradually all settled down and no oxygen was needed
Also some fab news! He had his eye test done, complete with the staff putting in the eye drops! (Matt had to go with him and actually hold his head still and they clipped his eyes open with kind of reverse bull dog clips
) And guess what?! No ROP. It was stage 2 but now its gone.
He has to have another check in 6 months, then hopefully discharged.
He also tipped the scales at 8 LB 4 OZ!! He is now the same weight as my first born! She says he looks massive.
It was also, very spookily, one year to the hour when all of the dramas of last year with Matt began. So hopefully we have come full circle and we can draw a big fat line under the last 365 days!
