I saw post #8. Someone's been watching too much telly.

Anyway, we were asked for suggestions and I gave mine. Over and out.

Fair enough but these are things that happen in real life.

Ask your scouse spouse about real life!

Oh yeah, and no one says "over and out" in real life - just on the telly! LOL

Renth, I got my first lesson in real life on our first visit to Liverpool - we were going to New York for a week and booked a taxi to pick us up from the flat we'd rented. I was chatting to the cabbie all the way, he was very interested in where we were going, how long we'd be away etc. My husband's usually very tolerant of my habit of talking to every stray and tramp I come across, so I was a bit surprised that he kept digging me in the ribs. He explained why later, and I must admit I felt a bit foolish at letting a stranger know the flat would be empty for a week.
Fair call about the 'over and out'

I agree that it would be mad to hand the money to the real estate agent. I don't think it's sensible to hang onto the money in case a drug baron pops in to ask for it back. The only legal, moral and common sense course of action is to hand it in to police. They have to give you a reciept and if you're told that it's been claimed and you want to verify that, it's easy enough to do by following up with the 'higher ups'. And even if they did pinch it, you haven't lost anything because the money wasn't yours to begin with.

DON'T TALK ABOUT THE FOOTBALL.

In the unlikely scenario a drug baron does come back looking for it, I'd much rather have it to hand. If they come over looking for it and you said you gave it to the police, somehow I don't think they'd be showing you their gratitude.....

Indeed, I think they would be taken on a drive in to the bush somewhere and asked to dig a hole and told to stand by it!

I would hang on to it for a few weeks, see what, if anything goes down.

Hand it to the police, and if it isn't claimed after a while it should be yours.

Consecutive numbers or random.... Ones takings and one is more likely to be a withdrawal. The Withdrawal is less likely to be drug money..... although not out of the question of course.

If it's drug money or any other illicit doings, your likely to know fairly quickly I would think.... the longer the losers wait the more likely the colder and more disturbed the trail would be.

Wait 3 months or whatever the waiting time for reward is then think about handing it to the police..... Oh times up

If it were me, and I'm not sure If I would hang onto it... I'd have a to get a feel for the place myself. One thing I would do if I decided to hang on. Get a security camera with decent infra red night vision. Pays to be prepared.

What a horrible position to be in! Personally, I'd be handing it over to the police, and if not claimed, I'd be moving as soon as I could.......(well at least you've got the deposit for your new place )
