Went well thanks - not sure that we'll get the gig but my teacher has pretty much taken me on as his side kick now which obviously I'm really pleased about considering I still havent finished my course. Its not a guaranteed income but I'm chatting to him every day and hes putting work my way quite a bit :) |

They'd need to look at getting ecommerce software (you can buy it online) and then I'd be able to work around that :)

Ok thanks. Do you know if they have a content management system with them or is that a separate thing?
Maybe someone else will come along with a bit more info?? I'd be interested to find out more actually too. |

They could also use a CMS such as Drupal, Xoops or Joomla that have e-commerce plugins. These packages allow total control over your site and there are thousands of modules and plugins to enhance the functionality. It's not a huge task to build a tailor-made store from scratch but there are numerous Open Source (free) solutions out there that can be adapted to their requirements but unless they are experts, I wouldn't suggest attempting to build it themselves with a WYSIWYG site builder. If it's for a business that wants to be taken seriously, I would advise they have it done professionally and shop around for quotes before committing. |
