Bondi has always had quite a large Russian community - I remember playing chess with an old Russian guy that looked like Kruschev when I first visited in 2001... S |

Unless I'm mistaken Russians aren't exactly high on the immigration per number list. I'm not sure what immigration path they use either. Any ideas?

That looks dodgy. What happens when you click on it? :)
It's just a 'dating' site for meeting a Russian bride. I believe similar things exist for an assortment of Asian countries. S |

I see key British MP's are being sent on the road to negotiate trade deals now. I also see Australia is keen to sign one up with the UK asap.
No Article 50 yet ....... hmmm ... looks like the ball is in the UK's court so far. |

No Article 50 yet ....... hmmm ... looks like the ball is in the UK's court so far. I don't believe that they are able to sign any deals until they have effected a release from Europe. There's something fishy about this delay in A50 - I suspect this activity is to sound out what/who may be interested in an FTA before actually pulling the pin. S |

Yes, I would have thought so. Need to do a benefits analysis aon each one and see if it stacks up. But what happens if it doesn't...? S |

Yep. That is the question.
I'm inclined to think it won't - FTAs with commonwealth countries aren't going to come to a great deal I don't think - There is Canada and Australia, which will be substantial. But South Africa? Not sure if it's worth the effort, same with NZ. India? Various islands in the Caribbean and the rest of Africa. The EU is right on the doorstep. I'm really not sure how an FTA with pretty much anywhere else is likely to be better than that direct access to the single market. S |

I suspect the EU will be the last deal thrash out. But all of these places know that the UK needs these deals. UK doesn't start from a strong bargaining position at all. S |
