Im glad they aint got it in Queensland. Had enough of the heat by 7.00pm in the summer. Glad it goes dark then. Why would you want another hour of it

I quite like not having saylight savings here in Brisbane.
As it is on warm days I get up at early about 28C in the morning and head home at a still sweltering 35C and within an hour or so its dropped to below 30C and I cna go out and walk the dog....
I would hate to have to wait longer at home in the evenings before its cool enough to go out!
The cruxz of the matter is whats more important saving 'daylight' or saving 'cool air'? I'd bet that there'd be a few of us who'd happily vote for 'CST' (Coolness Savings Time) where clocks are pulled in the other direction over the summer to ensure the sun sets sooner and we can get out more!!!
(It'd also be easier for the old folks back home to work out what the time difference was if our clocks moved in the same direction as theirs!!!!)

Qld did have a referendum on daylight savings many years ago and the government was sure it was going to be a Yes vote. But as we all know the government sometimes doesn't have a clue what the whole population want! Unless the government is sure they will win I don't think we'll be having a referendum again soon!

Perhaps the answer for them up in Bender-Country is to adopt the old Japanese timekeeping system, where they had varying units of time throughout the year! Six units of daylight and six of darkness.

The question to be asked is:
``Are you in favour of daylight saving being introduced in Western Australia by standard time in the state being advanced one hour from the last Sunday in October 2009 until the last Sunday in March 2010 and in similar fashion for each following year?''
Where do you pause for breath
