I enjoy watching the swimming- especially when the English swimmers do well- well done Fran and Liam.... but what was that all about with the national anthem???? They played "jerusalem" in its two verse entirety. It is NOT a national anthem, merely a popular hymn, and most people have no idea what William Blake actually meant when he wrote about the dark satanic mills.. If anything they should have played Land of Hope and Glory.

Apparently the British public (wot, not the ENGLISH?) voted to have it played. It is too long, just one verse would do.

It's the overly biased, and ill informed Australian TV presenters (channel 10 and Foxtel) that really annoys me. I so miss the BBC coverage!

Exactly. A country where children die of malnutrition and water borne diseases should not be spending billions on a sporting event. India is loaded. It is a very wealthy country yet they refuse to spend this money on sorting out their extreme poverty issues - and the west falls over themselves to make them richer. Disgusting.

They need a revolution.
