Some say the sunlight passing through the windows can be a cause of skin cancer and some argue that since only UVA goes through windows, it is only a cause for skin aging.

Please share your idea if you know this for a fact e.g. you have heard it from your dermatologist.

Yes, it can. I had a basal cell carcinoma (skin cancer) removed from my face, just in front of my ear. My dermatologist stated very clearly that it is from driving and they are quite common on the face as a result of sunlight coming through the side windows of cars. The backs of my hands also have sun damage with my right hand having a pre cancerous spot that needs to be removed - also from driving.

I honestly don't know how a dermatologist could attribute a specific bcc to a specific activity. I've had one removed from my back and I'm not a sunbather.

Yup you can, windows only filter out some of the UVA & UVB. You just need to take a look at my right arm it's brown, while the rest of me is glow in the dark white.

I notice the difference when I am in Mr PPs car which has tinted windows to when I am driving in mine which hasnt.

As soon as I have the money I am going to get my windows tinted at Tint a Car which is next to my workplace.

Like dorothy Ive had BCC's cut out. I do NOT sunbathe, I wear hat, sunnies, block and a shirt, always find shade. Yet on a one hour drive to brisbane I get burnt in the car, windows are tinted, but not the windscreen of course so I get burnt. Have also been burnt from sitting in the office, yes its inside but with windows open the sun comes right through and most people dont even think of that.

I do not like the intensity of the sun here, getting skin damage even in the shade etc. Girl who does my hair, an aussie but russian heritage, was saying she got burnt by being in the car for 10 mins, agree sun here just seems to get stronger and stronger.

I dont want that leather skin people have, I dont want the brown blotches either. When I worked in the Docs, the older aussies would come in and just have bits hacked off left right and centre, worst cases were the old guys who had holes cut out the top of their heads, one of the docs used to joke we could use their heads as dip bowls

Sun strength here is bloody evil.

Because of the position of the lesion, about 1 inch in front of my left ear on the side of my face, where the only way sun would get to it is through a car window. And the fact that he's taken off hundreds of lesions in similar spots in his long career as a skin cancer specialist.

I have the darkest legal tint, but drive round with the window down. I mean how else is the car in front of me going to hear my music

That's the funniest thing I have seen this week! I'm going to get meself some of these, I quite fancy a patterned tan.
