I never use the term wogs but funny enough all my Italian mates use it to describe themselves

My grand-kids both born and bred here have an English mother, my daughter, and a Macedonian father.
The grand-kids will both refer to themselves as wogs, I pull them up on it if I hear them, and say "No, you are not a wog, you are Australian."
I wonder why they never refer to themselves as Pommies?
