Budgeting........

Re: Budgeting........
I liked the recipes in the book too (but have ordered another from book depository too). My veg soup was made from: rest of gravy from lamb shanks, half pumpkin, half massive sweet potato, 4 small parsnips, red onion, wilting broccoli and celery(!) a swede and some carrots. herbs from garden and water. Cooked for 12 mins on high, blended and added more water as too thick. I reckon we got about 12 generous bowls from it altogether.
My local good guys had sold out, bugger!

Re: Budgeting........
I have just gone out and bought one of these following all your recommendations. Got it for $145 at the Good Guys. Need something to cook fairly quickly as not a lot of time after work etc. Am new to all this, can anyone suggest an easy recipe to get me started or recommend a good book? Thank you.

Re: Budgeting........
I rarely want kitchen appliances and I have a slow cooker but I really want one of these fast/slow cookers. I wonder how much I could get for mine on Gumtree?

Re: Budgeting........
I was just looking to replace my pressure cooker - it isn't often that I rave about a kitchen appliance, lol, but I really wouldn't be without mine now. It's just so versatile.

Re: Budgeting........
Ok, new recipe last night that turned out pretty good.
In the pot layer
Potatoes (I just cut baby potatoes in half) to cover the bottom of the pot
Thickly sliced onions to cover the potatoes
carrots cut in 1/2" rounds
6 chicken drumsticks
Pour over a bottle of Masterfoods Smoky BBQ sauce (the glass bottle) and sprinkle on about 1/2 tsp chili powder.
Cook on medium pressure for 19 minutes.

Re: Budgeting........
The rubber seal on my Prestige Hi-dome has finally gone after many years faithful service. My soup leaked steam all over my newly cleaned cooktop. Any ideas of where I can get a replacement seeing as they stopped making them a good few years ago???

Re: Budgeting........
I also made some rather deliciously scrumptious Carrot & Lentil soup through the week. (It was supposed to do me for lunches but the kids scranned it all!!)
