All good valid points... I think my issue is that the UK's does seem to have been 'explosive and random'... and I still don't see how you control population growth when we keep hearing that 'immigration is good for the economy' and we 'we need more people'.. speaking about the UK there.

Poms make me laugh. They bang on about their 'respect' for their armed forces and support of the troops etc, yet they elect and re-elect (and look like they are going to do the same with the current one) governments that continually f**k over the military. What a joke, this prick should be on trial for treason, not up for another term.
You get what you vote for Poms.

At last we're getting somewhere! In your post #126 you quoted my post #10. In this post I did not call any of my family or friends poms. If you had quoted my original post there would have been no confusion - BE works well when you use it properly.
I do not consider the use of the term pom to be derogatory in the context that I used it.

You still didn't answer my question. But as you're going off on a tangent I'd not expect an answer....

Gordon Brown comments below. I could find similar comments from Bliar and probably every other Labour minister of the last 10 years. The "good for the economy" mantra was rolled out endlessly.

If we were to say Thatcher was an English bas**rd then I believe I would be reported as being anti-english as has happened in the past even though she was English and a complete bast**d, especially to working class scots.

"According to research conducted for the Electoral Commission in 2005, the ethnic communities vote heavily in favour of Labour. Labour gets about 80 per cent support from the African and Caribbean vote, compared with 2-3 per cent for the Conservatives. For Asian voters, it is about 50 per cent to 10 per cent"
Just most of them.
