Please tell me that someone hasn't suggested that Cold Chisel are up there with The Beatles.....that truly would be the most tragic comment on any forum anywhere in the world, ever.

Choir Girl, When The War Is Over, Forever Now...reasonable songs, especially WTWIO.

Nothing to rival The Beatles or indeed countless other bands though.

I think some radio show did. There are many great bands, some I enjoy more than the Beatles. They wouldn't even be here but for the Beatles....

Indeed there are many ''great bands''.

Cold Chisel not really one of them though.

They are "ok" Them and the Beatles in the same breath is "amusing"
If someone had said Crowded House(Kiwi) I would have understood. I don't claim for a second they are comparable to the Beatles but Neil Finn is a songwriter of some talent and has produced stuff that moves me. My opinion of course..:D

Lots of great songwriters move me - Kurt Cobain was a fine one, John Lennon on his New York City album, Jim Morrison, Roger Waters, Noel Gallagher, Neil Young, Paul Simon, Johnny Cash, Eminem...

Shall we have a debate?

Poor Kurt :( That'll be me off on (yet again) another Nirvana youtube session.

When I finished work today, there was a coupla blokes busking in Cleveland town, I took no notice and walked past, they stopped me in my tracks when I heard from first couple of 'do do do do do do do do do do's' of Come as you are - I turned around and gave them a tenner - they then asked if I was willing to sing the song whilst they played - I rejected :o way too embarrassing :D

Cobain had what Lennon and Mac had. The ability to make music that affected people and shifted the course of musical output. They changed music too, just not as dramatically as the Beatles.

Only because the Beatles have been around a lot longer. Cobain was a genius, I wish he was still around, though he did want out of the music scene, he couldn't handle the fame.
