So just to clarify, was it the cost of the mushrooms or the rabbit incident that pushed you over the edge?
Sorry, but this must be an epic wind-up....

I'm not saying your move was risk free as you obviously think, but you have had a luxury of knowing you're allowed in and not spend your savings getting a visa sorted. The stress of sorting the visa out is the major thing, followed closely by selling the house. The rest of what you mentioned is viewed by many as the adventure part of things, the 'if i don't try it i will never know' part. If I'd considered it gambling with my kids future rather than offering them an opportunity, I would never have done it.
You didn't disagree - you were just an ignorant shouty little man. As per. You waded in because nasty old Hutch was being wotten to the lubbly lady. Cos after all, I've only been here for three years, what could I possibly have learnt in that time to compare with the wealth of knowledge the OP has gathered in her glittering 10 days.

Possibly the realisation that the immense financial, emotional and life changing move to the other side of the world requires an incredible amount of continuous research.

Phew. I thought for a minute that you'd moved over lock stock and barrel and lasted 2 weeks - not that you'd be the first to do that, by all accounts.
Anyway, at least you found out for yourself that Easter is the same date in Oz as it is in the UK.
