I'm no tradie so I've no idea what they do get paid - but you're basing your entire view of the building trade in the greater Brisbane area on one chance conversation with one English brickie on one building site. Hardly empirical evidence, is it? How do you know he wasn't pulling your plonker because he felt there were already too many tradies chasing too few jobs?
The travel agents that sold you the four day trip to Dubai?
Yea - why would you? When you can be close to the family that you speak so warmly of in your other posts, when you can enjoy this global recession in a country that's far worse off than this one, when you can watch Poles, Indians and Pakistanis getting treated badly by racist Brits, when you can get ripped off for most things. Why would you?
Yea? I'm beginning to understand the reception you got.
I work on computers missus - until they design a boogie board with a built-in laptop I'll find it hard to combine the two.
And you base this on the two months you've been a member of this forum? If there's been an influx of muppets lately, it's hardly my fault.

for gods sake, yes we KNEW IT WAS HOT AND HUMID!!!!! we get it, I am just saying that he didnt want to work in it, actually experiencing it is different than a number on a computer.
And no the 3 were not travel agents, they were strangers in the street who stopped to help us.

Was he on piece rates ? or an Hourly rate.... I thought 15 bucks was below the minimum wage. it's definitely below the Award rate, so had to be a non union site, which is unusual... Well in Victoria it is.... I'm not sure what the Union v Non Union site ratio is in Queensland. I have a credibility Issue with your opening post, thats why I treated it with hilarity.
I think it's good that there are people supporting you, because a one dimensional response is not healthy for anyone.

The head of the Pschy nursing unit at the RMB (A UK Migrant) moved back from Queensland for the same reason.
I dont think they would have made those feelings known to their workmates though.
Brisbane is hot sometimes.... there again so is Melbourne in January and Feburary.... Just in case anyone reading doesnt know

I honestly did suspect that the OP was a wind up. There was so much that was "wrong" in it.

I was just stating that HE personally found it too humid, not too hot.
