Righty, just got a few wines under my belt so relaxing after a day of watching uncouth redneck convicts get silly in the sun 
Anyway, the important points:
1- Siddle, well done, well deserved, humble pie consumed
2- England, below par score, must try harder but not a disaster
3- Johnson, Strike Bowler My Arse
4- Bell, Pietersen, Cook -Top work, can build on that
Day One down, Australia's day no doubt but still work to be done, disheartened? No.
The ebb and flow of a series is a wonderful thing and I, for one, enjoyed today despite it not being an England runfest ... I still say bowling first would have been the go

Good day's play and although I think our score is a little below par, I don't think it is that far off. We need it to rain overnight so the outfield gets slow as it was starting to dry out towards the end of the day. So many of our twos and threes would have been fours on a normal Gabba pitch and a bit of overnight rain would level the playing field

Thanks to Queensland Rail I missed the first over of the day ... the sound of the wicket falling outside Gate 4 was not a happy one ... next time I will collect my ticket prior to the first day ...
