Will report back as to whether you can actually run two seperate power line adapaters in one household. They are different brands so that may help.

I am considering purchasing the apple tv device. If I want to watch tv from the uk will I need to use a VPN? Also, does anyone have a Telstra t box - if so is it any good.

Technology is changing rapidly in this area, so hang off as long as possible and work with what you have if you can wait.
Re the T Box are Telstra already your ISP ?

Update, the US version of the Western Digital TV Live arrived!
I used unblock-us to give it a US IP address, subscribed to Hulu Plus using a super secret dodgy system, PM me for details. I've also got a premium Spotify account.
So the WDTV Live not only plays all my saved movies and TV shows but I can listen to Spotify and watch Hulu plus, it's great! Loads better than my old Netgear EVA9000 which seems like a sack of shit in comparison.

If you want to watch live TV you most probably will. I take it you dont have an Xbox or PS3 ? As they both can double as media servers..... As long as your willing to leave your computer (box) on that is.

So on that basis it's probably worthwhile and does the things they are talking about re the WD HD TV and Apple TV.

The latest firmware update for my WDTV has added an ABC iview widget, which is great. I also love the way you can wirelessly link Youtube to your mobile, therefore making searching for content much easier (using the remote is a pain).
For the isheeple interested in getting Apple TV, DSE have it for $109 with $20 of itunes:

Just ordered my first Raspberry Pi - $62 delivered for the computer, case and SD card with OS installed. 10 week delivery unfortunately and RS would only let me buy one.
