We had the Apple TV box for a little while butgot rid of it and bought the Samsung equivalent which is much better and way easier to use, it also isnt as restrictive as the Apple device.

Been foxtel free for 2 months and don't miss it and happy saving the $180/month (2xtv). Can't download to ipad as far as I know. TV needs a dongle thing to talk to wifi and laptop but laptop doesn't need to be in same room so kids could be doing their thing simultaneously.

Enjoy your Apple Soapy

We've had Apple TV for about five years or so. When we were living in the UAE, we didn't even have television connected. Everything we wanted to watch we downloaded and watched on the Apple TV or directly through Youtube. It's amazing the amount of stuff people upload onto Youtube immediately. The kids could watch Home and Away the day after it aired in Australia.

One massive plus for apple tv is that it's one of the few non computer devices that can run XBMC.
XBMC = the holy grail of Home Theatre and Movie and media downloads.
He he... seed planted. It's the only way to go Soapy
