What a crock
Longing for the pubs and green countryside - don't they have green grass in Perth? I beg to differ because I have seen plenty of it.
Bloody hell, that has to be a joke
I am now going to cry my eyes out because I miss the Rat and Parrot in Harrow, Next, Tescos, Sainsburys, Superdrug, my GP and the patch of green grass in my communal garden that was covered in next doors dog shit.
Let's all club together and send her a nice patch of grass or green stuff from our gardens.

I am told the original ad on ebay is "lighthearted" and "a joke", so I have reopened the thread.

Well it affected me deeply. I'm going to wait till she's raked in a fortune and then sue her for damages.

I think I must clarify although I said 'ALL' my comments were not intended for those such as Ashers who where only trying to be helpful, sorry if I upset you Asher not intended. It was aimed at those negative and p*ss taking comments. She is a regular poster on BE and very homesick not everyone "loves" Australia and some are desperate to leave but cant either due to money or circumstances.

I miss people, I wake up each morning missing my Dad so badly it hurts. I do not miss Tescos, I do not understand comments about 'Perth not being green' and I do not understand pub culture of missing UK pubs because I have never been in to pub culture - for me it is people and not places.
I deal with my people sickness in my own way and just because I am people sick to the point I cry that doesn't mean that I should slate the lack of 'Aussie history' or culture. Australia has its own culture and its own history - fair enough it isnt nor does it claim to be UK culture or history.
I laughed at the post because some of it was so unbelievable, but I guess we all have our reasons and what is important to us and Tescos, pubs and a 'different shade of green' is not to me.
But please do not assume that I dont miss things from the UK because I do, but not enough for me to sway in the direction of slating the country that I live in now.
I miss my friends and family big time, I never had the holiday period of when we first moved here and I was overwhelmed from day one.
But I am sorry, I have not and will never miss Tescos, pub culture and as for the grass - well it isn't any greener is it, it's how bloody well you trim the garden and whether or not the sun shines on it.

Nothing to do with homesickness or wanting to go back but, personally, I can never understand why people go on about the UK being greener than Australia. Sure Australia has vast areas of desert but at least there ARE vast areas that are not built on. Australia, like UK, varies in colour during the different times of the year. Australia has rolling green hills in the wet months just like the UK does but the difference comes about in the summer months. Sure the fields turn brown in Oz during the summer, but they do in England too, yet the suburbs of Australia still have green lawns thanks to retics and bore water whereas England's back gardens become a patchwork quilt of varying browns because of hosepipe bans! My kids could play on our green lawn all year round here in Australia. In summer in England they used to get prickled by the dry bits of straw that were meant to be grass.

Im sorry but I have suffered 'people sickness' from day one, I have also had to contend with comments such as 'you must be boring if you like Australia' or being accused of being in the 'honeymoon' period for liking where I live.

At a guess I would say that the issue of homesickness was a peripheral issue with regards to the core issue. A distraction really.
It could well be the case that the OP (Ebay) respects your feelings on Tescos, British country-side and pubs but doesn't feel the need to mock your opposing view?
These are just my objective thoughts on the matter.

The grass is greener i'm looking at it...so there!!
I'm loving Tescos... so there!
Appreciating the foxgloves, cowslips, poppies, roses and daisies on the lawn... got a problem with it?
What a saddo aye? But i have not been so happy in years...
