He's a total 'sook'. Was the last in the litter (of 5) and loves cuddles. Also has to put up with constant attention from three small boys. He loves being with the family. Any fear is overcome by natural curiosity (good and bad I suppose).

My sentiments exactly.

Similar happened to us in January. We had a 9 week old white kitten and also my SiL staying. Kitten disappeared one day and we spent hours in soaring temperatures looking for her. Resigned to the fact she was gone we all sat around weeping when little madam miaowed and there she was in the middle of the room. To this day we have no idea where she was as we'd searched thoroughly.

Downside was SiL had been out searching without sunscreen and ended up with VERY nastily burned feet.

Even worse, only 3 weeks later the little kitten died of FIP.

I'm glad you've found her though!
