Reading many threads regarding pros/cons of living in Brisbane many seem to refer to Brisbane as "getting dark at 6.30 pm". Having lived in Adelaide and now looking to move to Brisbane I have been wondering if this is true ?

Hi we live just down the road on the coast.
Yep 6.30 seems right, mind you its 6.10pm now and dark enough!!!

Well, its 6.10pm here in Brisbane right now and its been pitch dark for about 10-15 minutes. And thats a pretty good clear night without much cloud too.

Yep, it's 6:18 on my clock and it's pitch black out. I really, really miss daylight savings!

Is there any good reason why they don't have daylight saving in QLD?
#7
I don't think there are any good reasons

But there are lots of stupid reasons!
-curtains fading faster
-don't need any "extra" sun (hotter days)
There are many many other stupid reasons
I'll try to dig a few up.

The cows won't lay eggs
The chickens won't give milk
The children won't go to bed
The curtains will fade
The furniture will fade
0.006% of the population around Mount Isa don't want it
95% of the population in the SE corner do want it
Oh possibly that we're not ready for it.
I think that's enough to be going on with.
