Any ideas for finding missing kitten?
We can't find our new kitten anywhere at all. He's a 14 week old Bengal and we've only had him for 6 days :(
He's been missing since 11am this morning when some workmen came to fix a problem on our house (external). The doors to outside weren't open except when I answered the front one to a tradie. I called that tradie later on and he said he had seen the kitten in my son's arms, so obviously the kitten didn't leave the house then. I've looked everywhere as have my parents and children. He's really sociable, not shy at all and even if he was startled by work noise, he would have come out by now. I've done flyers, have door knocked all the neighbours, I've phoned the Cat Haven, all the local vets, the RSPCA, but now I'm running out of ideas. I just feel terrible that he's somewhere frightened and hungry. I hadn't even had time to microchip him and he didn't have a collar on as we weren't letting him out yet. The collar is still in the drawer :( I think if anyone found him they might just keep him as he's just the most beautiful temperament, not to mention looking just like a tiger. Any ideas? He'd never find his way home would he? |

Have you checked in outbuildings?

Re: Any ideas for finding missing kitten?
check sheds
ask neighbours to check in the house - when our cat went missing in the uk turned out she had her curious head on and had got in the conservatory and was hiding in a bedroom. all night she'd been there, hadnt made a sound!! we were at our wits end, OH went into garden one last time (having trogged up and down teh road and round the fields and doorknocked!) to call her and her little face appeared at their window! lucky for us as they went on holiday to cyprus for two weeks the next day so she could have been locked in! good luck and keep us posted! :) |
Re: Any ideas for finding missing kitten?
I lost my cat for a week and a half when I lived in The Netherlands. I know how upsetting it is.
I ended up making flyers and putting them through letterboxs on my street. When we came home from the pub one night he ran infront of our car and my o/h said thats Ukkie. Keep asking the neighbours and go have a good walk around the area. If folks are doing the garden ask them if they have seen a cute little kitten. Good luck! |
Re: Any ideas for finding missing kitten?
Have you looked under bed clothes, pillow etc. Our two, when they were tiny, we moved house and they were terrified and hid at the bottom of our bed under the duvet, because they were so small, you couldn't see any bumps;). In drawers, cupboards etc.

Update
Having looked and looked it seemed he had got inside a duvet which was rolled up in a cupboard.
I was checking the storm drains outside, my parents were still trawling the neighbourhood and he was here all the time. What a fright. My Mum and I thought we heard a tiny miaow, then again, and again. Little chap then appeared down the hallway :) Now we just need to think of a name for him. Thanks so much to every one for replying. He'll be wearing a collar tomorrow and microchipped asap  |
