It amazes me how people react to threads!

I have only just picked up on this thread so sorry if Im covering old ground.....It seems to me that a lot of people who have a go at posters, my favourite being the person who asked about leaving debt in the Uk! oh the moral outrage! is that they wouldn't have the guts to argue to peoples faces and be so bloody minded...... They thrive on the anonymity of the puter, they are possibly lacking in social skills?......

i wonder how many posters on here regularly post on other forums?
i think some of the antagonism caused and received is because of a lack of forum savvy and the ability to read between the lines and identify sarcasm, humour etc...

Sometimes, well actually ALOT of the time when reading through posts on a thread on BE I can't get over how people start getting all sensitive and smart arsed when leaving a comment. A simple question might be asked as a recent one ' Can my wife ship her favorite shampoo' and people will start getting arsey with each other - you should do this, you shouldn't do that, Australia has shampoo you know blah blah blah. It's like hello just answer the question -yes or no. Some people can start an argument in an empty room and I think some of them post on BE. And more than once I've been told that people refrain from posting or leaving comments on posts because of the reaction it gets, it's ridiculous.

A forum like this one is in part for information and also for general chat and messing around with people who are linked by a common goal. There will be people you hate, people you like, people you couldn't give a monkeys about. God forbid everyone just answered a question with a straight answer, threads would last three posts at the most and there would no entertainment for the majority of posters.
Some posters may go too far, but that, again, is life. If you don't like a post you report it. If you're feeling fragile for some reason, any answer can seem aggressive. If you're feeling aggressive for some reason, some answers can appear pointless.
One person's repartee is another person's aggressive unnecessary post - we are all different. Don't get upset by it, accept it, it's life.

Disclaimer: the mention of 'you' in this post was meant generally, not particularly.

I think you are confusing real life with the internet. In real life, people usually converse with friends, family & colleagues. On the internet, people usually talk to complete strangers.
There is a big difference.

But point made, I now won't comment further can't be bloody arsed
