After 12 months of hell I have absolutely had it with these morons. I have foxtel, internet, mobile and land line throught them. Can anyone recomend a company with an ounce of customer service who don't screw everything they do up.

I switched broadband and land line to iiNet. So far I haven't had to contact them for any reason in the 12 months since I signed up... I can't think of a better recommendation.

Any problems with loss of internet have been sorted immediately and we've had follow up calls the following day making sure we're still happy. This was when we did something stupid with the computer, not an iinet issue really.

Hi, we changed to optus a couple of months ago after having a horrendous time with Telstra. We have had no problems so far, unlimited calls to mobile, landlines in oz and unlimited internet access for $130 a month. We use phone cards to phone the uk as it is so much cheaper than telstra.

cheers guys I'll check these out. Telstra have been double billing me for 4 months and won't return the cash, and the cheeky b******* are now threatening to cut me off!

Ditto. We have had to contact them though and they were brilliant and sorted out the problem which turned out to be a Telstra line issue but they made Telstra pull their finger out and accept blame and correct the problem immediately which is something that doesn't happen if you're a bog standard customer asking for assistance.

I have just found this thread and would like to add that I have had big probs with Telstra.
Today I had a row with them and told them to disconnect me ASAP and that if they attempted to take cash from my account unauthorised then that would amount to theft.
I am considering Optus at the moment, I have noticed that all plans except the $129 have an excess broadband charge, that would worry me a bit. I dont download stuff I am just mainly on here and FB.
God I hate Telstra and I am glad I am not the only one who feels this way.

we are with iinet
no problems at all since we signed up
what I like is if you are nearing your internet limit, they send you an email and you can either up your monthly limit by paying extra $$ or you go on a go slow (which can be a pain in the arse tbh sometimes)
BUT I know people with Telstra that got a bill for over $600 for going over their monthly limit. No email, no phone call, no warning, just a massive shock in the mail

. They've been okay, I have Foxtel, phone line, and broadband from them. They are not the cheapest by any means, but their broadband is incredibly fast, because we've got their cable broadband. And therein lies the problem. I'm not in an area that can get broadband over the phoneline. So our only option is cable, which is Telstra. So even if I hated them I'd have no choice.
But I don't hate them. They're ok. Obviously if I had the option to go to a naked bradband plan with another provider I would take it. But I don't,

We are on Beagle
http://www.beagle.com.au/
We are limited to ISPs that use Telstra hardware so there is no Iinet
The option is to pay basic line rental $19.99 or there abouts and set up VOIP .
Haven't done that yet but looking at it
