OK, forgot to mention. The condition you're receiving treatment for could get you Centrelink benefits as a temporary disability. If you are separated under the same roof, you can claim as a single person. Go talk to them. |

I can't believe thqat after only a few weeks they can stop sick pay? And for a completely genuine illness!?
My main problem just now is that I simply can't do the job they offer. I have been unable to go in full time to sit in an air conned office and shuffle paper and use the phone. How can I go into a hot workshop without air con and bash metal for 8.44 hrs a day? |

Run out of sick days. Eight or so a year. Been off completely for 3 weeks and part time for the rest. As I have only been with the company 2 and a half years I only have some 20 days accrued.

Re: All outa luck...
Geez KP, you really are having a bad run, but what you boss is doing is downright low. I'd definitely be looking into the unfair dismissal option. I'm sure there is someone out there that can handle it pro bono.
Hope everything turns out better shorty. As they say, bad luck runs in threess, so you must be due to turn the corner. :fingerscrossed: |
Re: All outa luck...
KP, I know exactly what you are going through as I am in the middle of an Unfair Dismissal case right now. I won my case back in October and was awarded a substantial amount but the w****r is refusing to pay up.
I won't be beaten though and am gonna fight it all the way if I can. I have been out of work now for 8 months and have no money, but like your wife, my ex has been helping out with mortgage and the bills fortunately. (We still live in the same house while it's being sold, but live seperate lives). Please, please, please don't give up. It does seem like an uphill battle but I'm sure you'll get there if you're determined enough and we're all right behind you. Tried sending you karma but got to spread myself about a bit first. I'm sure KP appreciates the sentiment, however there's no way in the world you're going to get bono interested in his case . . . the little irish songster is more into your global crises . . . famine, earthquake relief, that sort of thing . . . he'll be well out of his depth on the intricacies of Australian employment law I should think and KP needs the best man (or woman) for the job.
I will try to find a lawyer who will look at my case fro free...... |

True. When he clicks his finger it isn't for a person suffering an injustice at work.
