We have never been to Australia before - We would like to settle in the "bush" or country; 15-20 acres but not more than 45 mins from the city.

My wife and I have decided to live debt free and self suffcient. So we want our own mini farm complete with animals, fruit trees, and vegetable garden. With 5 girls and 5 boys, we have all of the help we need. Smile.

We're sure Australia is the place for our family. We don't have our sites or expectations set too high...we're just looking for a new life and more sunshine.

Nah, we not even close to Amish - Just high school sweet hearts who love kids and the simple things in life.

Although we're still young (37 & 35) - we've been to the top of the corporate ladder and purchased all of the toys. What did we learn? There is more pressure and stress keeping up with the "Jones's" in the material and corporate world than keeping life simple and enjoying one another and our family.

For example, I got rid of my blackberry (cellphone) and my business life improved. I no longer feel the need to be connected to work after work.

Here in America the divorce rate is at a staggering 65 percent!!! My wife and I decided we were not going to be in that number of failing marriages. Life is too short!!

Well if the spring outlook is anything to go by, it could be a hot one.

http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/ahead/temps_ahead.shtml - gets updated monthly so worth keeping an eye on.

Averaged over September to November, the chances are mainly between 60 and 75% for above average maximum temperatures in northern Queensland, the northern two-thirds of the NT and the far north of WA (see map). In some areas near the Gulf of Carpentaria, the probabilities approach 80%. There are also 60-65% chances for a warmer than normal spring in southwest WA, southeast SA, and western and central Victoria.

Average spring minimum temperatures are also favoured to be warmer than normal across most of the country, with the exception of Queensland's southern half and the northeast half of NSW (see map). The chances of increased overnight warmth (averaged over the coming three months) are between 60 and 80% over most of Australia.

I saw this vid the other time you posted it and its made me feel exactly the same.... So excited about moving to Oz. You certainly seem to be "living the dream" - nice house, happy kids & wife, pool, motorbike, car.

pretty much what we're after!

Good for you, tonyman! We recently moved here from a high-pay/low-tax country and our peers all said we were mad, but we didn't do it for money. Don't get me wrong, we're not exactly hard up, but our money isn't going so far now and we're having to think before we spend for the first time in a while. We moved here so we could spend time together - my husband used to be abroad on business about 70% of the time; he was always stressed, frequently unwell, and we missed doing mundane, normal, coupley things.

We just got back from our home country (the UK) via a stopover in our previous place (Singapore) where we caught up with those peers. They couldn't believe how well and happy we both look. I think they finally get it.

Life is about experiences, not possessions. My new mantra.

Hey Rabsody

I am not that stupid to think kids wont watch tv or sit in front of the pc and i know for sure they will get bored seen as, i am bored is a favorite quote from kids all round the world. And i gathered it rains in Aus as well

But it sure wont rain as much there as it does here. And maybe we will be able to make plans to do things as a family without having to wake up and peak out the window to see if its pissing again:curse: Which it usually is

That's actually very true Paddy - I remember it being really hard to plan stuff for the weekend in UK cos of the weather (like barbies in the summer). Particularly if you have a small house, which we did, as there was little in the way of a contigency plan should it pee it down. We don't often have that problem here.

I definitely prefer the sunshine myself it puts me in a better mood (you can only imagine how cranky I was over there LOL!!).

Hey Seasider!! Thanks for the kind words. We also have friends and family who thinks we lost our damn minds somewhere on planet Mars.

After retaking the course "Life 101" My wife and I decided it was time to get back to the basics and start living life without all of the headaces. Don't know why remembering life is suppose to be simple and stress free. We got it figured out now and that is one of the reasons why we're coming to OZ....
