I love their fly killer, ant killer spray it kills those bloody ants/ flies straight away, they are better that the stuff u get in coles, & are about $2, their frozen burgers, are so nice, frozen curly chips, we like their slice cake, lovely for kids lunch boxes, their greek yogurt is so creamy, & yummy.
why dont you just go in there, & explore, you'll have more fun that way.

Fill your boots!
Don't be put off by the price, I went with the in-laws just the once and they wouldn't buy much because it was too cheap!
Lots of euro type stuff (mainly german), rye bread is excellent, cured meats etc. German coffee powder nearly half the price of Nescafe and very decent for instant. On the coffee front, buy beans and grind your own, much, much cheaper than ground.
We bought a whole load of small electrical appliances there when we first arrived; slow cooker, rice cooker, sandwich toaster, vacuum cleaner . . . came to something ridiculous like $130 for all four.
From a UK perspective, expect nowt 'flashy', its a bit of a jumble sale, but then again so are Coles and Woolies.

Well I've been and bought, looking forward to eating the "jaffa cakes" and continental biccies - I'll let you know what I think of the stuff in a few days. I hope I like most of it because I have to say that doing that extra shopping trip is going to have to be worthwhile for me to keep it up!

Aldi have been here in Melbourne since 2003.
We started shopping at the Waaringal store (Rosanna/Heidelberg) in the last 6 months and have not looked back.
Very fussy about the quality of what we show into our gobs, so we would not be buying there if it was not up to scratch. We have a junk free shopping trolley and probably half of it is fruit and veg.
The bags of apples and oranges we get there (keeps our juicer going on a daily basis) are half the price of those in Safeway or Coles.
We certainly have noticeed a big saving in our weekly spend but no discernable drop in the quality of our diet.

Hubby buys huge jars of Nescafe and says it is about 1/2 price of Coles (a grey import), and is very partial to their Jaffa Cakes
I get the organics range- pasta, pasta sauce, tomato paste. Sour cream and chive crisps are nice (bit spicy) and their sour dough bread was not bad.
We have tried some things and they are crap- jam, cat food (our cat will not eat just anything!) and some other bits which I have forgotten.

Their moisturiser if you can get it...
I found Bovril from the UK on special there the other week.

Have tried some of their other food lines but would only comment on their tinned tomatoes - a heap cheaper but very watery, which can affect sauces etc (not bad tasting though once you get past the water)

Don't forget, Costco will soon be in Australia too
Yet more competition for Coles and Woolies
