The Daiken guy rand yesterday and says he's going to try to juggle the figures to get it closer to $8000 for a 10kw.Fingers crossed.

If you can get a 10Kw unit for that you've done well... Just make absolutely sure that it's one of the new model FDYQ100KV1's

The winter is a good time to get A/C installed. They guys are not busy and the manufacturers usually have major discounts/cashback on the hardware - I got $750 cashback on ours.

You will get some sweet deals if you wait a bit longer.

OH rang the guy this morning and he said he can give us the Daiken 10kw for $8000...yay!
Thanks everyone for your advice, it really helped with picking one out.

Oh and asked about the isolated electrical switches and he said you only need those if there's not enough power to the home, but were okay there.

thanks again everyone!

I used to get a bill for over $200 for a month's electricity in Auckland during the winter.

Wonder what's eating up your power if you've not got the air con on have you tried switching things off one by one and seeing if the meter slows down? Usually its the hot water heater that's doing the damage.

Daikin are great, we have Daikin. Im also a fridgy !

You will need sparate isolator, both at the outdoor unit, and also in the fuseboard ( mcb )

Adds about 200 bucks to a job on average.

Good Luck Ste.

Incidentally, if you can afford it, go with the climate zone system

Its WKD !
