I've actually tried to trace his route, before responding on this thread.... All I can say is he couldnt have come from West Footscray Railway station to the HJacks I'm thinking of on the corner of Somerville and Princes Highway. Cruickshank park does seem to be a rather thin strip of land though. However the paths run lengthways through it.

He must have been walking from somewhere local.... rather than from the station, is all I can summise.

Maybe West Footscray station was targeted by the Police because they thought the perpertrator came via there.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but dont people get killed every year, late at night in the UK crossing parks towards home after work ?

I would imagine so. Plenty of rapes as well. They are just places you don't go to, end of. I wouldn't say he bought it on himself because he obviously should have the right to go home the way he chooses but it's a bit like a young woman going out in very little clothing, getting hammered and wondering why she gets raped. Not asking for it but certainly not taking precautions to lessen the likelihood of it happening. I'm probably very non PC but I can live with that.

l would'nt even walk through a park alone at night in the wealthiest safest suburb of Melbounre and this guy was walking though a park in one of the poorest most dangerous suburbs in Melbourne notorious for knife crime and violent gangs. What angers me is that everytime an Indian person is attacked in OZ the Indian media says its always a racist attack and what a racist country OZ is, in half the cases the attackers are not even white they are Vietnamese, African or Pacific islanders and its a mugging nothing to do with race. If Indians think OZ is racist country then why do they keep immigratging here in massive numbers?

Ya. This particular incident is receiving attention because the victim was very innocent, friendly and helpful. I read his posts and his Orkut account, it seems everyone loved him.

Also, the way that guy died. Trying his best survive by walking 0.5km under extreme pain to reach Hungry Jacks after getting stabbed. He wanted to survive, he wanted to live for this parents whom he was the only son... but no :( ...as they say "God also needs good people!"

I'm trying to come to grips with the presence of these shitholes in my country. They may be normal or acceptable where you come from but they are new to me.

Maybe a lower rate of immigration would be better. When race or ethnic knife gangs start why add more fuel to the fire?
