That's opposite, isn't it? Used to be a huge, rugby playing copper lived there - I vividly remember him chasing a very shocked potential burglar down the street one night

Where did you buy SS? I don't live too far from there. Perhaps we are neighbours!

Average priced home in my area is about $1 million! Bargain.

Think I will carry on renting and saving.

I could have done that when I was younger, and I could still be renting now.

But I didn't... I spent my hard money, and sacrificed my life to bricks and timber, and now, where am I...

Living in an area with a median house price of $462,000, and fully owning a $600k house Oh.. and retiring at 55

Looking back, should I have spent my money on holidays and booze instead ?

hmmmm.. I wonder

Different folks, different strokes. I admire what you have done, but it's not for everyone.

Aw, our first house was lovely. Even if it was in deepest, darkest Wales

Dunno if this even works!

Small world. We have friends who live in Pennal and both work at Plas Talgarth.... just down the road from you.

I could ask if you knew them, but as the guy is called John Jones (seriously !) it probably wouldn't narrow it down much.

We used to rent Mrs Jones' top floor before we bought that house.. (she was the Mrs Jones who lived near the bus depot.. lol)

We did love it in Mach. TheOriginalMrDreamy was an electrical engineer for Manweb - we always knew if some cow had been rubbing against a pylon cos the locals thought nothing of giving us a knock in the middle of the night to tell us their leccy was off

Be-yeaut-iful part of the world.

Me too, got here on the 22nd, and am also starting to realise that what i thought was a good wage is distinctly average....

But it is nice to walk accross Pyrmont bridge every day to work, brings a smile to the face ...

Except when its raining (most days for the past couple of weeks ).

I've been lucky and can't complain my wage, but some of the stats about averages here in Sydney are a bit surprising, although as I mentioned above property costs make a huge difference.

I think most of these people think they are entitled to gold plated, jewel encrusted houses and cars.
and so what if the kids want food, bikes, parties, clothes

let them eat cake
