Thanks so much, this will give us a good idea of what we're looking at in terms of style and cost.

Please be careful if you decide to build.

Building with a BGC company was one of the worst decisions of my life. Two years of stress and frustration and still not finished.

BGC group includes Perceptions, Commodore, National, etc. Unfortunately, they tend to have very slick advertising, good sales people, great designs and very reasonable prices. Only problem is they can't seem to deliver. Worse still, they don't care.

Thanks for that. Will keep it in mind when we arrive in Perth. Still not sure if we're going to build or not.

I have my handy dandy notebook, and every time I read a post like yours, I make a little note. I already had a note about Commodore from when you first posted that, and I've added one about all others in the BGC group, so thanks for the warnings everyone, we'll be sure to stay clear of them.

Hi
We live in North Shields at the moment and hope to be heading to Perth in September 06, we have 3 kids aged nearly 16, 9 & 7 still not sure which suburb to settle in but will be staying with family for the first few months. We have been looking at South of the river but will decide when we get out there.

Well, we're going on holiday for three weeks and hope to exchange when we get back. I have requested a month between exchange and completion which I hope they agree to. We had xrays yesterday and will have medicals in a week and a half so will have a good idea if we'll get visa or not. Then it's just a case of trying to sort out a rental here for a few months - may be very difficult as will be less than six months, but we've been offered a friend's garage to stay in if we can't find anywhere !! Or may be a case of paying six months rent anyway.

Hi Dawn, I have lived in Rockingham for 13 years. There are that many beaches to choose from. Secret harbour for surfing, Warnbro, Waikiki for little waves,Safety Bay,Shoalwater(penguin Island) Point Peron and of course Rockingham beach...what more can I say, the place sells itself. By the way have a look on our web site, we have short term holiday rentals in Rockingham if you need something when you arrive. One is 200 meters to Rockingham beach the other is 8 minutes walk to the beach but has an inside spa and outdoor heated spa as well.. http://members.westnet.com.au/cedercottage/ Good luck, Suzette and Will.
