Calm down girls, just for you I'll give an update.
The chewing gum is now firmly wedged in the nubuck suede sofa and trying to shrink it or harden it with ice did not work, its left a nasty white patch on on two cushions and the suede has gone all hard and sticky.
I think my wife will blow her top and have me at it all night trying to get it off.
