I do know that it is bloody hot there in summer!! That's why snow is so hard to imagine.
No worries.

Texas does have its extremes, freezing in winter and boiling in summer.

Power's come back on but we seem to be in the line of one monsoon after another. Friend's photo from Chapel St, St Kilda:

Melbourne's heat/relative humidity yesterday got as high as 29C and 71% which is close to what Darwin gets at this time of year. The remains of two cyclones being funneled over the SE of the country contributed to this.

Some places in Victoria had dew points into the mid 20s which is unprecedented and insane. We can get some sultry spells in Melbourne in summer but these sort of readings are pretty much record breaking, and also the persistence of this humidity from day to day.

284.9mm here for the year (that's just over 5 weeks). Pretty insane for this part of the world in summer.

Forecast saying...
"Mostly sunny morning. Isolated showers developing in the late afternoon. Winds W/NW averaging 25 to 35 km/h, reaching 50 km/h at times. Daytime maximum temperatures 34 to 39"

I think the rain went Melbournes way instead. Humidity is down now, but those temps are starting to climb.

Currently at Albion Park
Temperature 32.2°C
Dew Point 22.0°C
Feels Like 36.1°C
Relative Humidity 55%

36.4 degrees currently in Thirroul but weatherzone reckons humidity is only 34 %???? Not a chance. I'm melting, never mind the weather station.

I'm not sure I can even make the 100 yard walk to the beach.
