It's a funny old world. We're sweltering and my brother, who lives just outside Austin, Texas, has just told me they are getting snow, right now!! Temp 26F, normal winter temps for there are between 80C- 90C.

It does get down to 65C- 70C on a few days. Most days in the 80sC. When I've been there in the summer, haven't had a day under106C, usually higher and lowest at night 90C
He's just told me the bit of snow that's fallen is now freezing. More forecast. Told him to stay home tomorrow - it won't be safe on the roads!!

No, I mean Celsius! I do know what I'm talking about. I just didn't bother converting the 26F he told me today! That's 6 degrees below freezing point.

106 degrees Celcius is a tad warm don't you think?

Right I do have to apologise. My only excuse is when talking to my brother, which I was when I was posting, I have to do so many conversions from C to F and metres to yards that, especially in this heat, my brain doesn't function too well at times. I do know that it is bloody hot there in summer!! That's why snow is so hard to imagine.

He's in Round Rock, inland from Austin.
