Good point, not sure how we keep missing those big hailstones around here though. Must be the ranges on the eastern fringe that attracts them to places like Berwick and FT Gully.
Rest of Aus gets plenty of those big Hailstones in the summer as well.

I have yet to see any hail here. I often see areas really close getting big hail but any weather conditions like that seem to move in and then separate around our ridge. The other Christmas we had rain all day. Messaged a friend who lives three minutes down the hill because she was posting pictures of them in the pool. They hadn't had a single drop of rain.
