Cool and wet in Melbourne then....
Melbourne's eastern suburbs have been hardest hit by a sudden severe downpour, with the State Emergency Service (SES) receiving more than 500 calls for help.
The rain brought temperatures down by about 10 degrees Celsius in some parts of the city from about 2:00pm (AEDT). Duty Forecaster at the BOM Rob Dickson said about 10 millimetres of rain fell in about 10 minutes, with the eastern suburbs bearing the brunt. "It has knocked the edge of the temperature as it's gone through with our gauge in the city falling from around 36 degrees ... to 26," Mr Dickson said.
and not really the best time to go skydiving
Fourteen skydivers jumping tandem got caught in the storm off St Kilda beach.
"There's about five or six sky divers barrelling down to the ground, they were out of control," an onlooker said.
"One was just in the water, next minute, his pole came down and smashed him out."
Two of the parachutists had to be rescued from the water at St Kilda beach and five others needed treatment after the incident.

I do suspect that the forecast will be based around Murphy's Law though

Re: What's the Temperature & Weather like where you are now?
I know and have been there in way hotter than the days recently. I dont cope well
BOM gives a lot of stats on weather, you can put in bom observations Melbourne February 2014 for eg, and it brings up the entire month.
Heres one - February ( horrible hot month ) 2014 brisvegas, SC would be cooler.
http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/dwo/20...9.201402.shtml
However I reckon their temps are on the low side, official but still low side.
I know round here, we are mins from the beach, all temps will show much higher on the car, home thermometer, business displays than the official one.
Daily just use something like weatherzone if I want a quick check. Bom also gives the storm warnings or fire warnings down south. Bushfires not really a problem here, summer temps are generally only a few degrees either side of 30 and come with a high rainfall, often coming down in minutes! We are lush and green all year, but get cool nights in winter, days 22ish.
We have lived in melb briefly before, (plus several yearly visits), when first arrived, moved to QLD for work, GC, Brisvegas, and SC.
It would be nice to all be in melbourne. We assume partner will eventually pick up projects there, certainly not easy thought given his experience Still 3 lined up in brisbane, melbourne nil.
I love melbs winter weather, but it can generally shove jan, feb and half of march. Plus any bits when the flies arrive

Thanks. It's absolutely peeing it down here at the moment, dull grey and dismal, just like in England. In fact I feel very at home. Lol

However I would like a wee bit of sun in Tassie for the next few days

Re: What's the Temperature & Weather like where you are now?
Well, not sure about Tassie but it's given 4 days of cloud and rain here in Melb, mind you that means nothing, it could be red hot and 42 degrees by 5 O, Clock today...
