ours has been fluctuating between 24-26 over the last few days, but because there has been no sun for a week, not even thought about taking a dip.

Silly really, because its probably our last chance before September when it starts to warm up after the winter.

Well up till a few days ago mine was about the same, woulda swore it was all over! ... but we've had a few hot days and clear blue skies too of recent so the pool was back up to just under 30C yesterday.

Might have a waddle in tomorrow ...

Well time to resurrect this thread after following it from the UK last summer.

No idea what the pool temperature is, but I decided today was warm enough for payback after 3months of cleaning jacaranda leaves out of it, so me and the 5 year old headed in. Was a bit bracing to begin with but was actually better than I thought and we managed to last 30mins or so before getting out.

Need to buy thermometer to see what actual temperature is, but regardless I'm getting my moneys worth

There's a fine line between bravery and stupidity, as they say!

Just checked ours now and it's 18 degs C.

I'm determined to get it up to 32ish this summer.

anyone tried any DIY - read cheap-solar heating solutions. I've been reading about black tubing coils, drip feeding over colourbond etc using solar pumps.....can't quite decide to try it but can't quite decide to drop the idea either.

I pulled back the cover today and stuck my arm in to test the chemicals. Surprisingly it wasn't too bad. Not quite warm enough for me to get in, but warmer than I thought it would be.

Gotta say, this past winter we've kept the kreepy krawley thing in and the cover on all winter and it's pretty clean. Water crystal clear and only needs the chlorine topped up.

We swam in our first pool in Aug - 16C

Today it showed 20C, but I reckon the thermo is 1 or 2 above.

Did see 33C on it last summer tho! ...

It will be another 4 weeks before the cover comes off- it is way too cold to even think of dipping a toe in.

Despite being absolutely freezing, my girls insisted on having a quick dive into ours on Sunday....lasted all of 3 minutes and I'm pretty sure they lost a couple of toes each. That should stop the "when can we get back in the pool?" whinging for a few weeks lol

I have to regularly clean ours in the winter because of being surrounded by gum trees, and last weekend it was probably about 6 degrees in the pool

solar is still on winter mode, which will be changed this weekend, but it will be at least another month before its anywhere close to warm enough
