Seems to me race is different from nationality in the modern world.

Race =genetic
Nationality = political/circumstantial

Although race can clearly be associated with certain nationalities.

Race and racism can be a bit confusing.

This thread reminded me of when I was a lot younger, and there was a Pakistani at my school, that I did not get on with, and probably called him a few things that would be classed as racist. However, my best friend at the time, an Indian, didn't like him either, and did the same.

Now the question is.... they were both the same race, but I wasn't, and because my comments were not aimed at both of them, then they could not be racist comments

However, they could be classed as "nationality" biased comments, but that doesn't sound as bad as racist comments, wouldn't sell as many papers



Anyway I had some Pakistani friends too, so it doesn't count, as I didn't class them all the same

Unfortunately, some the PC brigade would still call you racist because you have just differentiated between your Pakistani friends and others. According to some of those people (Generalisation alert !!!! tend to be white, middle class, do gooders) your friends are just that - nationality, gender shouldn't be mentioned.

It is but my damn spell checker is set to American. It also puts ZZZZ's in everything!

Fixed! Cost for a 1 foot gash in the pipe:- $4.50 couple, 2 male threaded adaptors free cos I already had them, Lost water about $15, wasted trip to Taree $4 fuel and 4 hours, successfull trip to Port $20 fuel and most of the day, 6x St.Johns wart to calm me down and get me down from the ceiling, couple of hours on BE telling everyone about it, and thats about it. Oh and 5 hours trying to teach the alpacas to swim! (Aliens, I'm only joking about the swiming lessons)

So all in all a good day.

No it WILL be alright, got to think positive. EVERY tradesman and delivery to me has failed to take place either at all or on the right day, SO statistically I'm well past due someone delivering on the right day. And tomorrow is that day, Oh did I say I won the lottery today? During the 6 hour wait for the car today I was reading the paper and notice the lotto results in the back and I'd forgotten I bought a ticket for last sat's draw and guess what I won! I just hope the rules are the same as back home, ie:- 6 numbers = jackpot!
