what is adelaide like
hi we have planned to move to adelaide early next year but people keep saying that it is quiet and boring there we are aged 27 and 23 can any body tell us what it is like

Re: what is adelaide like
Partly true until you explore what it has to offer,,and there is plenty once you find the places you enjoy going to,lovely beaches and cafes etc,,shopping centres cinemas,,everything you need to survive really!
only probs and one of the reasons why we left was lack of employment, well for us! suppose it depends on what work you do aswell, Good luck Bluekipper |

Re: what is adelaide like
Thanks for your response, obviously employment is the most important aspect of our move. I'm a builder, heard that its not too bad for employment in building /construction, although correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: what is adelaide like
not sure anyone can answer that mate without knowing what you like? there are thousands of people your age who love adelaide, but plenty who dont.
i lived in melbourne for 9years and my first work trip to adelaide i thought i had been transported back to 1983. if you havent been to aus before you may find it more of a gamble than say melbourne or sydney |

Re: what is adelaide like
I class myself as a South Australian but a million dollars couldn't get me back there. Look elsewhere

Re: what is adelaide like
I love Adelaide. I'm 28 and i'm heading back for good. I work in education my OH in IT. I did a long thread on the catchup forum. It kind of tells you lots of things about Adelaide and why i love it :) We came back to the UK to get married and to try and start a family with our family around but have decided to come back asap. It's great!

Re: what is adelaide like
Good, and the constant flow of ex SA's don't miss it either.

Re: what is adelaide like
It can be a wee bit boring but then I don't think it has a lot of the faster city problems either. Melbourne's only 1/2 hour away on the plane for big city excitement.:D

1/2 hour is a little optimistic. |
Re: what is adelaide like
There's absolutely nothing to do here in Adelaide. I mean this is all that SA has to offer:
http://www.barossaunderthestars.com.au/ http://www.adelaidefringe.com.au/TixHome.aspx http://www.loxtonmardigras.org.au/ http://www.totaltravel.com.au/travel/sa/adelaidearea/beachside/events/festivals/all-british-day http://www.southaustralia.com/9004019.aspx and that's all there is................ in the next few weeks (well there is more here http://www.about-australia.com/event...=5&evdt=2-2009 but I have better things to do that list them all :D) |
