Thanks everyone, yes you do get a limit in timescale but our meds where only requested in May so we have till May next year.

Paul I never miss an episode neither, I wish they would do more Experiments and less with Derek though I think he is really good.

Loved the bed rocking and chair moving one at the hotel in Birmingham.

Houses are going very quickly up here and my friend has been looking for a house for 5 months and cannot find one. I have my eye on the local market so know what to expect to sell ours for hopefully.

Good luck to everyone and thanks for replying xx

Be careful what you say about Derek, he is a client of mine!!

Bozzy, that's a good cut, he is fab but the programme has started dedicating more to him, and less to trigger objects.

I take it you live in Southport then ?

About timescale! We had our medicals done in jan 03 then heard at the end of april that we had our visa...but we now have to validate our visa by the 25th aug 03...only giving us less than 4months to get organised and to sell house...As soon as as they called for the bond money you no more or less you are in so we put our house up for sale then which was the last week in march and 5wks later it sold.....All in all it 2yrs for our application to be processed!!!

we have got untill April 2004 to validate the visa. The cost of doing this and comming back is expensive and unsettling for the kids. We have decided to sell the house and it is taking ages to sell. We have booked the removal firm for next month and we fly in August.

If we haven't sold the house by then i will

A)scream
B)rent
C)Panic

We've got the house on the market now even though we haven't been requested police or meds yet. This is becase 1) we're very impatient and 2) the house has doubled its value since we bought it and even if we don't get the visa we are tempted to move on to something else and cash in. If it sells early we'll rent somewhere in the meantime. Want to be sure to get the best we can for it as early as we can in case things start to go really slow or worse still crash!

Our application is pretty straightforward so we're pre-empting things a bit, but if all goes well we'll have the bond money ready and waiting when it is requested, rather than having to go through the stress of selling the place in time to pay it.

Guess we are it the minority then

We have exchanged on the house and due to complete 18th of this month and WE DONT HAVE OUR VISAS! (yet!) We are off to Nz and husband has job offer starting mid July. We lodged our application via an agent on 21st May........

Rang agent yesterday to be told NZIS have application and they (the agent) will keep us informed!

We have heard of people getting their visa in a couple of weeks and the agent said two/four weeks so should be any day now but I hate this feeling of not knowing!

Hi I've read all the mails on this thread and there do seem to be a lot of differing views, we put our house on the market about six or seven weeks ago,at that stage we had'nt even got our police checks back! we sold it almost straight away,so its been a bit tense, but i had every confidence in the house buying process in this country taking so long that we would have time to get our visa's or not to sell or not.It looks like we'll get our visa's in a couple of months max,and we're still waiting to complete on the house,So I guess it's all down to,well I don't know, luck, timing, living dangerously,I have'nt helped at all have I sorry Tezza

Noticed Boomerang's still up! are you another insomniac like me! can't take much more of this fly out on 24th June, house sold but no completion date yet, should be early next week. Be very careful leaving the house the house sale too late, in total ours has been on the market 9 months, sold three times fell through twice. Punters have more choice than they did 6 months ago, the system stinks too easy for people to back out.
Cheers
Gary
