Not necessarily, possibly the exact opposite. Coming on a WHV can bugger up your chances of applying for PR. There are some restrictions on WHV'ers and if you can't get work in your usual occupation you may find that when it comes time to apply for PR you wouldn't meet recent work experience requirements. You need to be caredul with that one.

Unless I missed it, I didn't see any posts where people said they didn't like Australia.

If you come on a holiday visa and end up working in something other than the profession you plan to put on any application for a skills visa, then that will be a break in the 'recent experience' part of the requirements of the skills visa process.

You can't assume you'll find 12 months of electrical work on a WHV...big ask, presumably you'll have licensing hurdles to leap over - this is Australia after all!

Thing is, my cup is half full, if I hadn't jumped in on several occasions I'd still be working in a shitty office in Gravesend. I've weighed up pro's n cons, sought advice, checked things out and generally done my research. BUT!!! the over riding voice in my head was saying, go on do it, it's the only way you'll ever know.
Because of this voice, 16 years ago, I changed the direction of my career, I was handed a traineeship, and I found a job that not only did I enjoy, but I was bloody good at it. My reputation spread and I was head hunted by another UK company, whom I worked for for several years, consulting over much of the UK and France.
Then a phonecall from Aus asking if I was interested, off we went after lengthy discussions, and made the move after I returned from an all expenses paid fact finding/getting to know you trip.
Since arrival, I have been to most major cities in Aus, and all over NSW, I have moved companies twice, and my reputation in my field of work is now inter-state, my advice and help sought in QL,SA,WA & NSW.
My point is, none of this would have happened if I'd over-analysed the whole thing and not listened to that voice. Yes research is extremely important, if it could bankrupt you then you need to think long and hard, but no amount of research, and no amount of fact finding is going to prepare you for actually living here, the only way you'll make a properly informed decision is done it, didn't like it because.......
I wish anyone making the move or thinking about it the very best of fortune, you may well regret it, but you won't know unless you try. Every Brit here has had to step into the great unknown to some degree. Some loved it some hated it, but they had the balls to try it, have at least got something to tell the grand kids, and are not forever condemned to sitting in a pub, waving goodbye to someone who's emmigrating, and saying 'ya know, I had the chance to move to Oz once'
Listen to the little voice, you only live once

As of today I would say as long as everything works out, I will definately be trying OZ out in the next couple years.

If you want to be here in the middle of next year then you need to start the visa process soon. It can take a year for the process to go through, and you have 12 months after the grant of the visa to get into the country and validate it.

Increase the medication and the little voice goes away.

Anyone know how much a PR Visa would be for me?
I guess you pay when you apply for it?

Gets old very quickly though.
