Generally I tend to forget the sleep thing after a few jack Daniels and cokes, The caffeine keeps me wide awake, doesn't;t help when I am on the early shift like today :zzz:

At least I have the most expensive lunchbox delivery to look forward to in a weeks time tho :rolleyes:

Some of the Brissie Girls attended a Tupperware party recently, where we were informed that as it was our first party we were in fact "Tupperware Virgins". The gasps from the crowd, and the shock on some people's faces realising that we had managed to get to adulthood without the aid of Tupperware was too much for some.



We were shocked at the price of stuff and the slavish addiction of the Tupperware fan. No one seemed to find it funny that you needed a set of instructions to use plastic boxes, or that the instructions were magnetic, so that you could stick them on the fridge for quick referral!



Our giggling at the back of the room whilst the "demonstrator" did her spiel didn't seem to endear ourselves with the plastic worshippers.


It's obviously an "Aussie Thing".

Actually I have been reliably informed that you do need the magnetic instruction thing as different foods require different ammounts of days with the airhole/holes open and closed and different sizes to keep them to the optimal freshness. One lady last night had managed to keep a capsicum for over a week in one because she followed the instructions which I find quite amazing and I will be purchasing a set for $150 just to do keep my capsicum fresh and crispy

Aparently it can be quite a chore when you get home from shopping and have to select which of your food should go in which box. These are people with 3 or 4 children, I dont have any sprogs and still dont have time to organize my shopping into little containers for the fridge when I get home.

Mad bloody mad the lot of them.

I can keep a capsicum at the bottom of my fridge for months!!! What do I need to spend $150 for?

The day I have to work out which buttons to press or not, when storing my vegies is the day you can put me in an air-tight, plastic container and see how long I will last!:scared:

I have managed to avoid the tupperware parties here, did get sucked in once in the UK 10 yrs ago and found it frightening - I understand what you all mean trying not to laugh at the demonstrator while getting scared no one else finds it funny.....

.....on the other hand I have never owned so much plastic since being here, my rental was very dampish (no decent heating!) and I bought masses of plastic, mostly in woolworths, for cereals and flour and biscuits, I do not need so much now I have moved.

My last purchase was at a sale in Bunnings - 19 boxes for $10 and hubby uses one as a lunch box - come on Kala do the search on the tupperware website and post us a picture of your $59 bargain (was $59 for one or two !)

Tuperware is an Aussie Product and they are very proud of it, so beware if slagging it to the locals I have made that mistake and apparently in the eyes of some I am out of touch and common using bunnings plastic ware !

I got heaps of plastic containers and glass jars etc at Gone Bazaar the other week, when they were having a sale.

Medium sized things(like to put yogurt in to take to work for lunch) for like $1! Glass jars to store nuts in etc(I'm on a diet, have all different food to eat), $2!!!
And it's good stuff too!!

Tupperware might be good stuff, but I'm not spending that much on it! Never!

the 'perth ladies' haven't had a tupperware night yet, and there's not one in the planning luckily! We've had Nutrimetics though, which is funny when the sales lady is trying to get us to stop talking! Or when half of them are outside smoking, she goes outside and gives them the order booklet! :D
With a party like that, I just get the stuff I'll use up, and which is on a good special, like the shower gel.
And luckily I have a good excuse not to hold a party: my livingroom is too small, literally! :D

OK now you're scaring me :scared: . I thought that putting veggies in the fridge was something even I could manage. Now I find out you need a science degree and specialist equiptment. There's no hope for me :D

Thats the funniest thing as Tupperware are actually an American company yet the demonstrator last night kept goin on about how this was Australia and that was Australian, I liken it to the Australian products you get here that were made in china but packed in Australia to make people think they are buying local :rolleyes:

here is a little picture of my new lunchbox's, the only difference is that I went for the "cranberry" coloured lid as this is the original colour and less liekly to be withdrawn from the catalogue so I should always be able to ge matching lids for my future purchases (This was a top tip that another Tupperware fan shared with me last night) I'm goin to keep my cornflakes in one and my Special K in the other :D


They were $33.80 each and I have to pay $1 for deliery soa total charge of $67.60

Omg, I seriously got one of those at Crazy Clarks's for $2!!! And I think it's bigger too!
Not all the lids shutted properly, but I bought the one that did :D
