very excited but scared as well !!! My OH of 25 years and our 11 year old son going as well. Just completed on sale of my house and got to sell the car yet !!! Where did you do your training???
My COTRB assessment was done ages ago but will complete a practice audit once over there. I trained at Salford and also did my fieldwork educators course there. I've worked in quite a few different areas so if I can help with anything then let me know. I was also interviewed in Manchester last June.
Have you sorted out any accomodation ???

Lisa,
I trained at Teesside, I used to work at Salford Quays!!
Is the COTRB complicated?? I seem to need every piece of paper possible to prove I can speak English, or am I doing it wrong!! How long does it take??
Is your son looking forward to it, have you sorted schools??
I'm going to stay in nursing accom initially, then look for somewhere to rent as soon as I get there. What about you??

Hi Hannah,
The COTRB assessment can seem complicated but it really is proving that your degree is as good as the degree you get from Australian study. Your uni should provide you with a certified copy/transcript of your course. All my other documents were certified by a solicitor (only cost about £30). The COTRB will take a minimum of 12 weeks and you are not allowed to chase them, it even tells you that in the application form .
Have you sent off your COTRB paperwork yet? as you can't register with Qld OT board without COTRB certificate, which also means you can't work as an OT. This could hold up your visa (if 457), have you put in your visa application ???
We are going to sort out schools after we get there as they don't go back to school until End of Jan and I will be picking Kat's brains because she is a school teacher . We have got an estate agent over there who will sort out fully furnished place until we find rental. All I am waiting for now is a case officer and visa then can book flights and get moving.
How far along the process are you?

I am trying hard to persuade a friend to come over with me or consider the change in the near future.
Perhaps we could meet up, I am still trying to work out which area to try and locate. It is an absolute night mare.
Does anyone have an opion or advice , my friend works for allied health here as a specialist trainer eg infection control, child protection policies etc what is the likely hood of her securing position?
I have to stay feel relieved I am not the only one considering this move on her own.
cheers x
