[QUOTE=Tiawamutu]I read somewhere that Australian's do not want places such as starbucks in their country.

It was on another thread I think and was about how a starbucks near chapel st melbourne (an upmarket shopping area) closed as they didn't get enough custom.

If there is one thing I'll say about oz, you can get great coffee here. Largely thanks to the influence of the Italian community I think. I'd like to see more Greek restaurants though. Don't think I have seen one in Perth though there must be some in sydney and melbourne.

Greek food is great. God I love eating out in London, so much to choose from.

Their is an Ethiopian restaurant in 8th Avenue, Mayland , Perth. I must try them out sometime soon!

A fear or phobia of 'barbecues'
I'm sick of the obligatory 'barbie', I always get a sore tummy, no matter who cooks, and yes, we are very clean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Marks and Spencers grocery store would be good

"Sticky Fingers Candy Store" in Mundaring stocks them and a whole range of UK lollies - including my favourites, Clarnico's peppermint creams.

You have a very fine point there - I have had some wonderful coffee in WA - from Kalbarri to Perth to Albany. I would hate some of these places to close, especially my favourite - Rifo's in Maylands (please tell me it's stil there!)

I KNOW Starbucks is evil, but I'm addicted, I can't help it. However, I'm sure I can live without it for the greater good.
