It's been a couple of weeks and it seems to have improved, it will now almost last a day, gets to around 8pm and it's at 10%.

I don't know whether this is because I'm not using LTE as much (have it on wifi at home and in the office) so maybe it was that which was draining the battery so much.

Still needs sorting out though.
Yeah, mine's improved but still marginal, got mine on day one and had my first full day (5:30AM to 8:30PM) without a charge, this is with LTE turned off though, on it seems to drain faster.

I'm trying to understand this ... if you disable LTE does this mean you fall back to 3G speeds? If so, what happens when Telstra eventually switch off 3G?

Yes, the phone switches to 3G if LTE is off (or if in a 3G only area).

They won't switch off 3G for many years yet, LTE is only available in the big CBD's and very few people have phones which can use it anyway. Hopefully the LTE battery drain bug (if it is one) will be fixed in the near future.

I like the 5 but battery life has been the biggest problem so far, hopefully IOS 6.01 or something fixes it.

Yeah have to agree on the battery. I'm getting through the day ok, even with LTE on, but def not holding charge as good as the 4S did.

Still, one day I'll be able to buy another USB cable for the car charger!
