I feel sorry for Duncan's parents they are on holiday up at the Lakes District!! And they have to drive down to East Yorkshire this weekend!

And yes Travelmood are very helpful, they will accommodate for your every whim if they can. I'm not too sure about price, but I've always found them to be very reasonable.

Its good to know I have a ticket where I can ring anytime and get on a flight and a hell of a lot cheaper than paying for an emergency flight.

Just make sure the ticket is valid for 12 months (most are) and that there is no or minimal charge to change return date, cos when you book you have to give a return date and you cant book that far in advance. so you need to change that when you get here.

Hi that was worth it then if you only paid about £100 difference on the return and one way ticket price. Definitely worth doing when that happens i think. When i was looking on some of the dates - like you say some would only allow about 8 months over the flying out date... I presume that's when you need to ring up and book direct? I know on some "flexisaver" etc deals some airlines do that there's certain criteria regarding cancellation/changing flight dates etc included within the deal. I remember the flights we booked for Oz last year had a full refund guarantee in need of cancellation - whereas there was a slightly cheaper option that didn't have a full refund - think it was something like only 40% refund of the original ticket price...

Hi - i was watching the weather on the news before going to bed last night and they said that Bradford/Leeds etc had about 10cm of snow fall yesterday - but i think they're not expecting anymore the next couple of days - although Scotland is... One place in Scotland had 20cm snowfall - so that's quite a lot!
We haven't had any here yet, and the weather's not meant to be quite so cold this weekend - wet and damp - and about 7degrees during the day i think - whereas the other morning we sat in the car and the temperature was 1degree!!!

Looks like you might be needing nice warm boots when you come over!!!

Hi Kerry, reckon Duncan's parents will be ok in the Lakes - i think they were just getting a blast of cold rather than any snow there...and hopefully the snow that fell in Yorkshire will have virtually gone by the time they drive that way this weekend.

Oh that's cool (no pun intended!! lol). They are very old and they panic when driving at the best of times.

I'm sure they'll be fine... I just had a quick look at the weather again & it says it shouldn't be too bad today & tomorrow...
Good job they didn't plan their trip to the Lakes when we went in October - then they'd have had to drive through flooded roads which wasn't much fun! Nice they get out and about though - good for them!

Yesterday we both received letters telling us our citizenship was approved, so now we're just waiting to hear from Hobart council when the ceremony will be.

Congratulations! Did you have to sit a test first?

Do they do several cermonies a year or just on occasions such as Australia Day, I have noticed quite a few people on BE having the ceremony on that day, must be a popular one!

Yes but it's easy if you read the book first.

Not sure how many ceremonies but the Aus Day one just happens to be the next one.
