that was really reasonable but i'm not sure if its better to be more or less in Hobart for the 1st few weeks So much to do my mind is just spinning (not a good thing !!)

Thanks Again

conongham would be ok for a beach holiday but not v. convenient for hobart, about 25 km each way-not a problem in a car but if you want to be handy for town Quest is good as Donna says-5 mins walk to the CBD.

Opossum bay even more inconvenient than coningham.

Little update for you. Come Monday UK time i left the UK a month ago, can't believe how fast it's gone. So far i have found Tassy a nice place but not seen much yet as i don't have a car yet, but will hire one soon. I got my drivers licence staright away and done in 10 minutes. Yes 10 minutes. That included taking my picture and putting it onto a credit card style card. And i did not need to take any kind of test. As a UK driver i don't need to they said. So fast and so friendly, still gobsmacked and fast they did it. Food here to me seems way better that the UK not to mention fresher. Weather has been a little rainy and windy but nothing to put you off. It's better than the UK already. I walk to work most mornings along the boardwalk next to the beach and just the other night after work you could see a few people in their boats and surfers. Nice calm and relaxed atmosphere. If you get broadband internet with Bigpond don't get the 200mb packageas it is just no good as you will go over your limit very quickly. I did in 2 days talking to the wife and kids on the web cam. Go for at least the 12GB package as they have a half price deal at the moment (2 yr contract though). Will add some more later on.

I don't mind you knowing at all. 3 years ago we tried NZ, our house did not sell and we had to come back to the UK (with almost no money). We decided the UK was not for us and all the family wanted to go back, we tried and got PR (2 years to get after we had been to NZ) but with 3 months stings attached and we had to wait for my job to be on offer again as it's gone quiet in NZ. Months go by and nothing, then out of the blue a job offer pops up in Tassy so here i am. We can't afford to ship every thing again or want to. House has to sell first as it's down to money. It's tough for us (bloody tough) but we are determinded to try our best. Read my old posts for an indepth story. I would advise you to read them to see what can happen. Hope this helps.

We are in the final stages of our move to Tassie, We have sent my wifes motorbike on its way to Tassie!!! The company has picked up our packed boxes and they will be on there way soon!!!! Leaving do all booked and nearly sorted!!!! Really just counting down the days, I keep going on the Hobart Beer Festival webpage as it has a countdown on it and that its the day we land!!!! Really looking forward to the way of life in Tasmania and also looking forward to the nice food and drink!!!!
The only little thing that is worrying me is me finding a job over there but I've always worked her in UK so hoping I won't have to much problem getting a job!!!! .
Hope to meet some of the nice people on here.
